Foundation Sleuth is an independent decision tool for homeowners evaluating foundation issues foundation cracks, repair quotes, and pier estimating. We build calculators and severity guides and guides that help you understand crack severity, estimate repair costs, and check pier spacing.
How our numbers work
Every calculator runs on standard material yields and densities, the same figures printed on bags and quoted by suppliers. Each formula is checked by hand against worked examples before it ships. Prices on this site are always shown as ranges with an "as of" date, because material prices move with your region and season. We never publish a made-up statistic.
What we are not
We are not a supplier, a contractor, or an engineering service. Our numbers are planning estimates, not construction documents. For anything structural, load-bearing, or code-related, confirm with a local contractor or your building department before you pour, dig, or build.
Corrections
If a number on this site looks wrong, we want to know. Email [email protected] and we will check it against our sources and fix it quickly. Getting the math right is the whole point of this site.
